ChirpyNest was designed with modern good rack hanging arms in mind. The bracket has 3/8 inch holes for mounting on these racks. However, ChirpyNest can hang on any rack that a gourd can, as well as from the porches of traditional Martin houses.
I now ship ChirpyNest with mounting screws, so you can position the universal bracket for either horizontal (straight) or Vertical mounting arms.
Below are examples of straight arms. Gemini racks, round racks, and bracket for the T-14 are typically straight arms.
Another way to think about it is : on a straight arm, the ChirpyNest mounts back to front and swings from side to side. On the bent arm, ChirpyNest mounts from side to side and swings from front to back.
Below are examples of Bent arms or vertical mounting arms
On a round rack or Gemeni rack, if the mounting arms face toward you, that is considered a straight arm. If they are parallel to the rack, consider that to be a vertical mounting bracket.
When hanging gourds I would use #10 or 12 gage electrical wire. The same can be used to mount ChirpyNest.
Below are some of the ways and racks landlords have mounted ChirpyNest.
The deluxe rack with the stainless steel VERTICAL arms from the PMCA is a favorite of mine. The deluxe Troyer racks use only the shorter horizontal arms.

Both horizontal and vertical arms work with ChirpyNest on this rack but the vertical arms are longer than the straight arms and give the ChirpyNest more room.
The round rack and Gemini rack available from Purple Martin Products is another favorite. https://www.purplemartinproducts.com/TroyersGemini24UnitGourdRack
There are many other racks that work great as well.
